silentlarry
When using spamcop webmail, I no longer get pop-up for new mail alerts for new mail in my inbox. This used to be perfectly reliable, but it hasn't worked at all for quite a long while (many months). It does check for and update the inbox display every five minutes. New mail appears in the listing marked as unseen. Also, if I select my 'held mail' folder, the new-mail popup will come up if there is new mail in there. When switching back to inbox, no pop if there was fresh mail waiting that came in while looking at another folder (as used to be the case when the pop ups worked). Getting a pop-up when switching to the inbox is not a function I care about, I mention it as info only. What I miss is the pop-up when new mail is checked at intervals. I have done the following: Verified webmail user option "checking for new mail" is set (5 min) and "Display pop-up notification of new mail?" is checked. Tried turning it off and back on. Completely emptied out the inbox. Tried different browsers (Mozilla, IE) & platforms (W95, OSX) Attended to browser scripting issues (Mozilla pop-up blocker exception list set, tried it as a IE trusted zone) This is hardly critical, mostly just wondering if anyone else has run into this. I have never seen it work however, so did not concern myself with it.
Jeff G.
When you view your Inbox, which of the following URLs are you using? http://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/imp/mailb...newmail_popup=1 https://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/imp/mailb...newmail_popup=1 http://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/imp/mailb...BOX.Held%20Mail https://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/imp/mailb...BOX.Held%20Mail The last two should work better to provide access to the newmail popup. If you are getting either of the first two, please email support[at]spamcop.net, including your SpamCop Email System Email Address.

Somehow I'd bookmarked a url with a bunch of extra crap in it, instead of the base https://webmail.spamcop.net But even starting clean it ends up with some variation of ?mailbox=INBOX&no_newmail_popup=1 once logged in. Tried forcing the last of the above list and while it makes the &no_newmail_popup=1 tag go away, still no pop ups. Same regardless of the pop-up user setting being on or off. If you are getting either of the first two, please email support[at]spamcop.net, including your SpamCop Email System Email Address. 36661[/snapback] I'll give that a try. Thanks.
