hammerlock
I'm trying use a Verizon/Palm Treo 650 feature called "wireless sync" that enables the 650 to download email from spamcop. their support person tells me it can't be done since the server mail.smamcop.net has a different name than my email address, jejohn[at]cesmail.net. does anyone know of a work around? Thanks.
Jeff G.
Please try using imap.cesmail.net, pop.cesmail.net, mail.cesmail.net, or 216.154.195.50 instead. Thanks!
Wazoo
http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphone...samail_faqs.epl seems to tell me that anything to do with "ActiveSync" is also using the words "Exchange Server 2003" which Horde/IMP is not .... I'm thiking that you're trying to accomplish somethng not actually capable in the feature set of that phone and it's programming ... though not more than a couple of minutes spent searching ... it would seem that POP andIMAP should work just fine, though, yes, I suppose that due to notmal assumptions made in the programming, the use of different domains could be seen as a but of a problem, yet it's not like this setup is rare at all. I'm also making an assumption that the term "Hotsync" is not what you are trying to ask / complain about ...??? Note: there is also the description of having to use a web browser function to access HotMail, perhaps use the seme function to access the WebMail version of your SpamCop.net e-mail account ..??? Not the same, I know, but ....

Wazoo
Thanks very much, Jeff. I appreciate the time it takes to help out. 39936[/snapback] Wow! So as the "problem" resolved, is there an issue with terminology, something you could contribute for the next person that stumbles on this Topic looking for an answer ...????? Wazoo
A bit of an update, as seen in another Topic/Discussion at http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?...ost&p=59467 ..... Wazoo--btw, in the old post re the Treo email etc the issue was never resolved. I found email via the Treo too tedious for minor convenience (for me) so I don't use the feature. DavidT
I download email from Spamcop wirelessly (over the Sprint data network) using my Palm-based Treo 700p. I'll be glad to post some details later. DT
