Keithj Posted October 19, 2006 Share Posted October 19, 2006 For a bunch of reasons, I "administer" two separate Spamcop accounts on the one PC - one's my "personal" one, and the other is a "business" one. Never the twain shall meet. They work fine, and do their separate things without overlap - except that once I log into one, I have to shut down the browser and restart before I can log into the other one. Is there a way to add something to the end of the bookmarks (eg "http://mailsc.spamcop.net/reportheld") to tell it the account I want it to go to? Something like the "?action=..." that other links use, maybe? I tried "http://mailsc.spamcop.net/reportheld?user=newname" and a variety of combinations round that, but to no avail. Or any other way to do it? I have a paind account and a free account and am able to handle it because the free account logs into www.spamcop.net. I just tried logging in with my email credentials to the www.spamcop.net page and I have all the same options, so perhaps you can use that? I'm able to log in and out of my two SC email accounts without having to "shut down the browser and restart before I can log into the other one," but I can't be logged into both via SC webmail at the same time using the same browser. Thanks! That's a good work-around, and it works fine. I normally use Firefox, for all the usual reasons. IE is on the machine but not used, so it's been pressed into service for the "other" Spamcop account. I suspect there is a "suffix" that would do the job, but I can live with this! I'm not actually seeing (a recognizable) cookie on this system that seems to be tied to the webmail app .... I seem to recall a reference to an issue brought up in the Beta Topic, where JT pointed out that a $Session-ID parameter was used, vice the 'cookie' data .... I'm looking at a string (modified a bit/lot) that includes the "extension" probably in question .. though also suggesting that it won't fly within the same browser 'session ''' ... (not going to get into the http: vice https: location for this) .... Or any other way to do it? Not sure if I fully understand exactly what you are talking about. Is it two SpamCop Email Accounts or is it Reporting Accounts? The server prefixes, though generally meant for specific uses are not necessarily restricted to that use. I can log into the reporting side of my email account using either: http://mailsc.spamcop.net or http://www.spamcop.net both provide links to WebMail Not sure how it works with two separate mail accounts, but may be worth a try. I do understand part of our problem as I do have multiple different types of accounts ISP account Email Account Paid Reporting Account Free Reporting Account using different server names for each helps keep the cookies under control. Address = http://mailsc.spamcop.net (I use auto cookie log in using your entire spamcop email address as the user name) Click on the HeldMail tab which takes you to the VER interface You can also get there directly using http://mailsc.spamcop.net/reportheld?action=heldlog I may be off base with my responses, don't know. The old topic seemed to reference using the URL with embeded user name and password. Did not see any mention about cookies that work just fine with most of the address. I have had problems trying to use members.spamcop.net with an email account as it seems to be unable to validate the password. - But that may have to do with my wierd setup with works fine for me. Thanks for trying....anyone else? The way I understand it, that method broke a couple years ago after a Windows security update (only worked in IE, I believe). No...that's not what Richard (SpamCop Deputy) said in the topic that Wazoo linked: There have been no changes to the servers that remove this functionality. I have just confirmed it still works using Mozilla and Firefox. As another user has already mentioned, you cannot log in using this method with Internet Explorer, as Microsoft removed this function from IE some time ago as part of a security update. Sounds like it broke in IE due to a security upgrade by MS, but probably still works in Mozilla/Firefox. So...maybe I should either PM Richard or Dangerman, the other user who said that "it has now started working for me again" last August, and who briefly dropped by this thread early this morning. It's two identical mail filtering and reporting accounts - one is name[at]spamcop.net, the other name[at]cqmail.net. They both do exactly the same thing, one for personal stuff, the other for "work" stuff. The two are not allowed to meet, for reasons you can guess. Dangerman sent me a PM, and his fix works perfectly. I can toggle between the two, or have both open at once in different Firefox tabs if I choose.
